Quit my job, rented out my house, and packed my bag to embark on my first solo backpacking trip through South & Central America. Come join me as I share my exciting adventures, foodie and fitness tips to have fun and stay fit while fully immersing myself in the culture...

About Me

They say great things come in small packages.

About 29 years ago, on a cold winters night in a little city of Perth in West Australia, along came this little bald headed 'bundle of joy'.  The First born child and the  'apple of my fathers eye' I was born,  5 weeks premature, tiny, loud & bald headed till about the age of 2 (hence the baby nickname- swade head)....Basically, I started my life the same way I still am to this very day- Impatient, in a rush, over excited and eager to get stuck into things...

I am a Gemini.
163cm Short (but I have height dysmorphia and feel so much taller).
Eldest of 3 sisters who mean the world to me.
I'm first generation Aussie with Liverpool heritage (YNWA) growing up with only my immediate family in Perth.
I'm super easy going, love to socialise and have a passion for health and fitness.
I can't decide on my favourite colour, food, or movie because it seems to change all the time so obviously I can be indecisive, i'm also impulsive and I don't share my food very well haha.
I like long walks along the beach and candle lit dinners... haha no but in all seriousness I do love the beach, travel (clearly), socialising, making the most out of life, food- AND THANK God I love exercise too or else i would have blown out by now.

I grew up obsessed with horses and rode until I finished high school which I really think shaped the adventurous kind of person I am. My parents sacrificed so much to move to Australia  'the land of opportunity' before we were born to give us the best chance at life. Mum and dad worked hard to provide us with the best childhood, supported all our hobbies, fed us (too well), put us through good schools to ensure that we had a good education and i will forever be grateful to them for the amazing upbringing which has shaped a pretty happy bubbly little me.

We are a crazy bunch but we are tight knit crew- my family is the funniest, craziest, most loveable wonderful family anyone could ever hope for (only slightly biased), and i wouldn't have it any other way... Please see some extremely flattering family portraits i'm sure i'll be punished for.

The wacky wakies haha i'm getting emotional even writing this and thinking about being apart from my family for the next 6 months.  My family is such a big part of who I am so of course they have to get a mention (and some embarrassing pictures of course).

Clearly, I am a big kid at heart- I love to dress up, be silly, and get myself into all kinds of mischief. Note: We don't always dress as animals- This particular christmas I bought my whole family a different animal onesie (as you can see) and we all wore them for the day, laughed, played board games and the usual crazy wakefield banter was enjoyed.

I have a Bachelors of Exercise & Sport Science and as mentioned in other blogs have been working as a Health and Wellness industry for the past few years. I love teaching group fitness and helping people to achieve their goals. Hopefully I'm going to share my passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle with others along my travels and by posting blogs and tips about keeping fit and healthy on the road.

I don't enjoy shopping at all! I love to spend time with friends and loved ones- socialising, keeping active, going to the beach, eating all the good stuff and on occasion drinking too much and suffering a 3 day hangover afterwards. (Thank god for uber eats). Thats just a little prologue about me...i'm sure as you join me on this journey you will find out a great deal more.

:)
